King of the $0.50 bin

Here's the haul from Thursday August 10, and a handful from a yard sale. All $0.50 each:

The Band - Rock of Ages [Capitol- Sterling RL] Major seam splits, and needs a clean, but Robert Ludwig's mastering ought to be satisfying. This is the third The Band "RL" LP for me.

The Grateful Dead - American Beauty [WB green. Second copy for me] Still on the look out for a WLP (saw one last week, but not quite good enough condition to warrant the expense).

Fletcher Henderson - The Fletcher Henderson Story [Columbia 6 eye, 4 LP]. This boxed set must have been around the time Columbia put out the Billie Holiday Golden Years. It comes with a booklet of photos.

Lester Young - Prez & Sweets [Columbia 1979 WLP. In fact, it looks more like a test pressing. No defining marks except the Columbia Records, Pitman NJ, and "Advanced Promotional Copy" text]

Lester Young - It Don't Mean A Thing [Columbia 1981 WLP. Same details as above]

Benny Goodman - The Vintage Goodman [Columbia CL 821 6 eye]

Eurythmics - 1984 [Virgin UK 12"]

The Smithereens - Green Thoughts [Capitol 1988]

Joan Baez - Farewell Angelina [Vanguard gold mono]

Rolling Stones - Tatoo You [Sterling RL]

Odetta - Sings Blues and Ballads [Tradition]

Duke Ellington - Early Ellington [Brunswick]

Ney Matogrosso - Pescador De Perolas [CBS Brazil 1987]

Betty Carter - Whatever Happened to Love? [BetCar 1982]

Johnny Hodges - Hodge Podge [Epic/Columbia 1974]

Esther Borja - Exitos de Ernestina Lecuona [Kubaney, Cuban pressing from 1950s]

Traffic - Traffic [UA 1968]. I much prefer the Low Heeled Spark... album, based on a first listen.

Woody Herman - The 3 Herds [Columbia maroon CL592]

Dave Brubeck - Brubeck Time [CL 622 6 Eye]

Johnny Cash - Legends and Love Songs [Columbia Record Club 1968]

Johnny Cash - From Sea to Shining Sea [CS9447 2 eye stereo]

The Byrds - Untitled [Columbia]. I've been listening this for the past few days, and sides 3 and (particularly) 4 have extraordinary bass. Sides 1 and 2 (the concert sides) were disappointing - murky sound.

The Byrds - Byrdmaniax [Columbia red] Somehow the gospel "Glory Glory" seems odd for the band. The disc itself is VG-, and the crackle may be too bothersome.

Loudon Wainwright III - More Love Songs (Rounder 1986] A folk super-group

Humble Pie - Rock On [A&M US 1971]

And $2@The Guess Who -Share the Land [RCA]

Fats Domino - Lets Play [Imperial]

Dave Brubeck - Southern Scene [CS8235 stereo 6 eye]
